Prince Harry wins high court victory against The Sun publishers - Shift London

Yesterday, a settlement was reached by Prince Harry and the publishers of The Sun. NGN is the publisher of the Sun and the now-ceased News of the World, owned by Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp UK.


In 2019, Prince Harry took legal action against the publishers alongside two other newspaper groups. The trial was due to open at the High Court of Justice in London but was delayed on Tuesday when lawyers revealed they were in thorough discussions to negotiate a settlement.

Indie-pop singer, Chappell Roan has been named BBC Radio 1’s Sound of 2025 Winner, nominated by a panel by over 180 industry creatives. 2024 saw the release of the 26-year old pop-stars hit single, Good Luck, Babe! which hit over 1 billion streams on Spotify. With 41.9 million monthly listeners, Roan’s musical success is destined to continue in 2025.

BAFTA announces diverse nominations for 2025 - Shift London

The British Academy Film Awards nominations for this year were announced yesterday. The nominees included more predictable big names such as Ariana Grande and Timothee Chalamet, along with recent Golden Globe winners like Sebastian Stan, Kieran Culkin and Demi Moore. Despite this, it is a good year for newcomers, with 14 of the actors nominated never previously being acknowledged by BAFTA.

Luccombe Manor Country House Hotel is set overlooking the beaches of Shanklin. Well known for its scenic views and wide range of facilities, this hotel is highly recommended. Island one of the best in country for clearing criminal court backlog

According to a new Ministry of Justice report, as of September 30, the Isle of Wight Crown Court had 120 pending cases.

This places the Isle of Wight fifth in the country for having the least backlog.

This figure has slightly increased since June 2022, when there were 103 outstanding cases at the Newport court.

Comparatively, Warrington courts have the least backlog with only two cases, while Snaresbrook has the highest with 3,442.

Is tortoiseshell the new leopard print? - Shift London

The tortoiseshell Celine cat-eye sunglasses were particularly popular this summer and there seems to be no stopping this trend as the days become shorter. With Carolyn Bessette Kennedy taking over Pinterest boards, the time has come to put on a thick tortoiseshell alice band and a pair of ballet flats.


There is no sign of a takeover quite yet with leopard print still as popular as ever, with Google Trends reporting that searches for the pattern are at their highest since 2018.

Last week, via Instagram, lingerie brand Victoria’s Secret announced the return of its iconic fashion show. Set to air this autumn, the brand promises to “reflect who we are today plus the glamour, runway, wings and musical entertainment”.
